Seating

The Seating in Westpac Arena is a combination of fixed, telescopec, retractable and loose floor seating offering multipul set-up configurations.

Floor Type

Sealed, hardened concrete. Arena and Back-of-House entrance into Arena, 175cm (7in) thick. Back-of-House concourse, 125cm (5in) thick. Carpet is available for hire.

Floor Service Ports

There are 14 utility floor ports, each providing Event Power and Event Water to cover all requirements.

Broadcasters (OB)

Ample parking for OB vans and support vehicle stalls can be provided in the sealed and fenced service area. Two 60 amp, 3 phase power outlets are available for OB vans. Storage containers are available for hire.

House Sound

The Westpac Arena incorporates a quality sound system integrated to the arena's acoustics and geometry, providing for reinforced speech and background music. The acoustic structure is designed to minimise sound break-out.

Hire

An extensive range of on-site technical services can be provided. A catalogue of equipment and services is available upon request.

House Lighting

Dimmable zoned 1500/500 watt halogen flood lights or high bay Metal Halide work light 400/280 watt. Metal Halide Sports Fittings (1500 watt) for telecasts (700 lux vertical and 1500 lux horizontal) are provided.

Catwalk

A continuous 2m (6ft 6in) wide catwalk following the production perimeter of the arena. The catwalk also provides access to roof truss gantries to enable access to the hanging points along each truss and other rigging operations.

Rigging

Rigging Outside Fixed Grid: The arena is provisioned with a 24m x 18m mother grid for general rigging or production lighting loads. Additional steel tri-trussing (80m) is available in 4.5m sections. An 80m x 13m division curtain gives the ability to divide off the venue at a number of roof truss lines. 

Centre Stage: Overall rigging load for a centre stage configuration shall not exceed 45 tonnes (88,185lbs) maximum, depending on layout. Grid area 18m x 27m (59ft x 89ft). Maximum allowable total load on the fixed grid is dependent on configuration.

Rigging Points: Maximum of 3 tonne (6,613lbs) at x 4.5m (14ft 10in) centres. Maximum of 18 tonne (39,700lbs) on any one beam. Roof trusses at 9m (29ft 6in) centres.

• Maximum size 12.2m x 19.5m = 237.9m2 (40ft x 64ft = 2,560ft2)
• In modules of 2.4m x 1.2m (7ft 11in x 3ft 11in)
• Adjustable height 1.22m to 1.83m (48in to 72in)

Performer Dressing Rooms
Four performer dressing rooms complete with toilet and shower are located on ground level.

Sports Floor
American maple, demountable Horner sprung floor  36.9m x 21.3m (121ft x 70ft) to international standards with runoff. Basketball and netball markings with FIBA approved Schelde sprung backstops and FINA approved netball rings, underfloor mounted.

Scoreboard
Demountable four sided Computronics full LED matrix, sports scoring and animated graphics board.
FIBE approved Basketball shotclocks.

Production Equipment
Production equipment is available for hire.

Television Production Platforms
A dedicated platform 2.4m deep x 3m wide (8ft x 10ft) is located above the Corporate Suites level. The television production platform has an audio visual distribution board ‘star wired’ to the back-of-stage.

Team Changing Rooms
Three team changing rooms are located on the ground level. Each with folding walls to further subdivide into six rooms.
All rooms measure as follows:

• Dressing area 4.5m x 6m = 27m2 (14ft 10in x 19ft 8in = 291.6ft2)
• Toilet/ Shower area 4.5m x 4.5m = 20.25m2 (14ft 10in x 14ft 10in = 218ft2). Two toilets and three shower heads – including one each for disabled persons.
